Part copying using the OptiScan sensor mounted
in a Kuka robot.
The copying installation is composed by two Kuka
robots and an OptiScan sensor, as well as by the
required software: the OptiScan sensor is moved
by one of the robots and digitizes the part to
copy. Afterwards, reverse engineering is done with
the scanned data and the new obtained information
is sent to the other robot, which mechanizes a
wooden copy of the part.

- PSA Manufacturing and Assembly (Process Stability
Assurance)
A train wheels manufacturer company raised the
possibility of measuring its products using OptiScan
technology.
A study has been made to analyze the possibility
of wheels measurement in process.
For the accomplishment of the study, a H-Class
sensor was used on a Trimek arm machine, with high
stroke in all axes. The result of the study shows
the viability of the installation of a measurement
solution in process using technology without contact,
OptiScan.

Integration of a R-Class
sensor in a debugging cell. The cell consists
of a Robot ABB (Foundary) and periphery of machines
of elimination
burrs.
Due to the variability of the smelting pieces
and considering the difficulty in the repetition
capacity of manipulation of pieces of the robot;
OptiScan makes a guidance/direction of the robot
for an optimal elimination of burrs.

Installation of a double system of OptiScan H-Class sensors in line for the verification of triangularity defects. The steel manufacturer company needed to guarantee in the process the circling of the bars. For this purpose, it was necessary to install a system that could measure the triangularity defects in line.
The solution presented by Datapixel was a double
system of sensors that was able to take line profiles
on-line and analyze the values of circling.

Implantation
of a H-Class sensor in a gantry CMM machine. The
target of the costumer was double:
- Reduce the mechanized times making a previous
analysis of the variants of the founding of dies
versus CAD.
- Optimize the measurement times of dies and
pieces. Both objectives go directed to the global optimization
of the dies manufacture process. The reduction
of the process lead-time and the improvement
in the final quality of the product are the pursued
goals.

Integration of a H-Class
sensor in a 100% defects control cell. In the
cell there is a rotating plate
that moves the pieces in a continuous form, underneath
OptiScan. The result is a digitizing of the piece
to control, the part can be compared online against
a pattern piece.
The result is a 100% control of defects of the pieces
in process.

The proposal of the costumer
was analyzing the deviations between the real
mold and the CAD model
of the mold.
In order to analyze the possible deviations the
MovilScan solution of OptiScan was used, with this
solution it could be made complete digitizing of
the mold in machine, with no need to disassemble
any element.
The followed process was:
• Scanning of molds
• Comparative with the present CAD model
• In case the molds were not equal, to create a new
CAD model that corresponded with the reality.
The software used for the comparative treatment
and reverse engineer was Geomagic. As much Geomagic
Qualify, for accomplishment of comparative, like
Geomagic Studio for the obtaining of a CAD model,
they gave to the MovilScan the ideal support for
the accomplishment of the work.

The problematic of a costumer begins in the necessity
to integrate some guidance system for its machine
developments based on parallel cinematic. For it
this costumer looked for a multipurpose, innovating
and low cost solution.
After an exhaustive analysis of the state-of-the-art
of the solutions and technologies available in
the market, the Datapixel solution with its Optiscan
sensor was the chosen one
